An unlicensed medicine is a product that doesn’t have a product license in the UK, but does have a product license in it Country of Origin.
Some medicines will not have a product license altogether, and these products are known as ‘Specials’ – An example of this being: A specially-prepared liquid form of a medicine for someone who has difficulty swallowing the licensed tablets.
